The Cathedral-on-the-Blood
Ekaterinburg’s Cathedral-on-the-Blood takes its name from its location, which is where Tsar Nikolay and his family were assassinated during the Bolshevik revolution.  It has become an impressive memorial complex dedicated to the Romanov family, following the last Tsar’s canonisation.

Ekaterinburg City Hall and Square of the 1905 Goda
The building housing the City Administration as well as the City Duma (parliament) was built right in the central square of the 1905 Goda. Initially, it was built for the Merchant Courtyard. Later, in 1947-1954, architect G. Golubev led a project that entirely transformed the previous constructivist-style building into a "Stalin Empire"-style edifice decorated with columns, pilasters, allegoric sculptural statues and a proudly eminent tower that crowned the newly shaped ensemble of the central city
